    I purchased this rod as an alternative to an ice fishing noodle rod. I have fished it several times in 2025. It fishes like a light action rod. Nice for most panfish lure applications. Easy hook set and nice action when fighting a fish. It was challenging to detect light biting, finicky fish when comparing to the sensitivity of a noodle rod action. Overall nice rod for purposes described.

    I have only taken this rod out fishing half a dozen times or so, but I like it. It’s not what I consider an ultralight, closer to a light. It doesn’t have as soft as a tip as I was hoping. That being said I really like it I have been running small spoons for panfish on it. For the price it’s a great rod I would buy again if something happened to mine.
